(Trends Wide) — The governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, issued a new decree on Monday that prohibits any entity in his state from applying a vaccination mandate.
The new decree includes private employers, who will not be able to require that employees and clients who object to vaccination be given the injection for “any reason of personal conscience, based on religion or for medical reasons, including having previously recovered from the covid- 19 “.
Previously, Abbott had issued decrees banning passports and government vaccination mandates.
The Texas governor’s office announced in the same press release its intention to bring the issue of mandates to the state legislature. “Governor Abbott also sent a message to the Clerk of the House and the Clerk of the Senate adding this issue as an item on the agenda of the Third Special Session. The decree will be rescinded after the approval of said legislation,” according to the statement.
