Hany Dimitry, the Egyptian Chargé d’Affairs to Algeria, said that the Egyptian embassy was not aware of the matter of the Zamalek mission to Algeria, except in the middle of the day on Sunday, and sought with the Foreign Ministry to solve the permit crisis.
Dmitry said, in a television interview: “We did not know the details of the Zamalek mission that landed in Algeria until 11 am, and we sent a delegate to Algiers airport but he did not find the mission, then we learned that it landed at Hassi Messaoud airport, which is very far from the Algerian capital.”
The acting ambassador added, “We have intensified communication with the Egyptian Foreign Ministry and Hassi Messaoud Airport in order to assist the Zamalek mission.”

Hany Dmitry continued: “The crisis of crossing the country is not the clubs’ responsibility, but the carrier company bears it, as it is the one who must obtain approval and permits before the trip … and it is better for the clubs to inform the (Egyptian) embassies in the country that will pass through so that there is a representative from us in Waiting for them to solve all the problems facing them and provide some of the effort and suffering they are going through. “
The committee in charge of managing Zamalek club demanded that the team’s match against its Senegalese host Tongith be postponed in the second round of the African Champions League group stage, scheduled for next Tuesday.
The Egyptian team’s mission was delayed to reach Senegal, due to flight conditions, before it arrived on Sunday evening in Senegal.
