He continued: “The constitution guarantees freedom of opinion and expression in Article 65, and Laws No. 178, 179 and 180 of 2018 were issued to regulate the press, the Supreme Council for Media, the National Media Authority and the National Press Authority to determine some guarantees and rights.”
He pointed out that “the state is obligated in Article 72 of the Constitution to guarantee the independence of the press institutions and the media owned by them, and to guarantee freedom of the press, media, printing and paper, audio, visual and electronic publishing, and the constitution prohibits censorship, confiscation, suspension or closure of newspapers and media outlets, and guarantees the independence of journalists.” .
