Berlin, June 17 (.).- The euro fell again this Friday below 1.05 dollars and in the afternoon it was exchanged in the Frankfurt foreign exchange market at 1,047 dollars compared to 1,050 dollars at the end of the day from Thursday.
The European Central Bank (ECB) fixed the reference exchange rate at 1.0486 dollars.
The uncertainty weighs on the single currency with the ECB at the crossroads of having to take measures to contain inflation which, on the other hand, could have negative repercussions for the eurozone.
Interest rate hikes in Switzerland, the US and the UK have also put pressure on the euro.
The ECB’s announcement of a quarter point increase in the price of money in July has been met with skepticism by the markets.
