©Reuters. The euro falls below 1.11 dollars after Putin’s statement on gas payments
Berlin, March 31 (.).- The euro interrupted its rise of recent days and fell from 1.11 dollars the day before shortly before 3:00 p.m. GMT and was exchanged in the Frankfurt foreign exchange market at 1 .1090 after reaching the highest of the last four weeks during the day.
The fall, of around 0.61% in relation to the price of the day before, occurred after learning that Russian President Vladimir Putin insists that Russian gas payments will be made in rubles with “unfriendly” countries. .
An announcement to the contrary the day before had resulted in the consolidation of the single currency.
The European Central Bank (ECB) set the reference exchange rate for the euro on Wednesday at 1.1101 dollars.
