Berlin, May 19 (.).- The euro rose slightly this Thursday to around 1,058 dollars, the day the G7 finance ministers meet in Germany.
The euro was trading around 1515 GMT at around $1,058, versus $1,049 in late European forex trading the previous day.
The ECB set the reference exchange rate for the euro at $1.0525.
The European currency recovered slightly from last week’s decline, in which rising inflation, supply chain problems and concerns about the war in Ukraine have pushed investors to take refuge in the dollar.
The G7 finance ministers will deal today with issues such as the global economic recovery after the pandemic and inflation, which has skyrocketed after the outbreak of the war.
This Thursday, the minutes of the last meeting of the Governing Council of the ECB on April 14 were also published, which show the concern of the participants about inflation and their willingness to quickly raise interest rates.
The single currency was traded in a fluctuation band between $1.0459 and $1.0594.
