© Reuters. The Iranian currency marks an all-time low and depreciates 45% in three months
Tehran, Dec 25 (.).- The Iranian currency marked a new minimum record against the US dollar on Sunday. with which it registers a drop of 45 percent compared to mid-September, when the protests broke out in the country.
The dollar exchange rate, which until last September on the free market was equivalent to around 283,000 IRR, today has been around 41,000 IRR.
The Minister of Economy, Ehsan Janduzi, appeared before Parliament today to explain the government’s policies regarding the issue of foreign exchange and explained that until the end of September the executive controlled the foreign exchange market very well and that the problems began to from that date, the local Iranian news agency ISNA reported.
