The management of the New York Knicks would have marked Jalen Brunson, currently a player for the Dallas Mavericks, as their next target.
According to sources close to the NY Post, President Leon Rose likes Brunson very much, and he would also have the approval of Tom Thibodeau to offer him the starting point guard job.
Brunson is in the final year of a contract valued at just over $1.8 million and is in a position to negotiate a potential extension with the Mavericks or become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
In 42 official games he has averaged 16 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 30.9 minutes per night.
Other names recently associated with the Knicks have included the Pistons’ Jerian Grant and Indiana center Myles Turner.
