The number of medium-sized companies in Nuevo León grows: Coparmex

Monterrey, NL. The annual growth rate of medium-sized companies – employing between 50 and 250 workers – in New Lion was 6.8% in April, with 4,172 companies, while at the national level, the rate was 4.3%, totaling 47,031 medium-sized companies, according to an analysis of the Employers Confederation of the Mexican Republic with data from IMSS.

On the other hand, the number of formal medium-sized companies in Nuevo León was the segment with the highest monthly increase, with 44 more employer registrations. From January to April, the number of medium-sized companies in the entity increased by 136 units, that is, 13.3% of the national total.

The state in the month of April was the eighth state with the highest annual growth rate in the number of medium-sized companies nationwide, after the states of Nayarit, Yucatán, Tlaxcala, Baja California Sur, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo and Puebla. However, in absolute terms the number of formal medium-sized companies, Nuevo León is the third highest at the country level, surpassed by Mexico City and Jalisco.

Medium-sized companies are an example that it is possible for micro and small businesses to survive and be profitable, and aspire to continue growing until they become large companies.

Cecilia Carrillo López, director of Coparmex Nuevo León, highlighted that regardless of the size of the organization, every business owner seeks its growth, however, to achieve this, it is essential to know not only the product and the market but also the operational areas involved. the business – production, finance, human resources, among others.

“We are very proud to share these figures, because in addition to the new companies that may be opening in the State of this size, there are also small ones that become medium-sized and this is what we all want, that the 45,000 formal companies of micro and small in Nuevo León, tomorrow they will be medium and large companies”, he highlighted.

He added that to the extent that business owners recognize their needs and seek support from institutions such as Coparmex, they will be able to solve them and ensure not only their permanence in the market but their growth.
