The Syrian government approved an increase in the price of gasoline, so that the subsidized price per liter becomes 475 Syrian pounds, up from 450 Syrian pounds.
The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection also set the unsupported price per liter at 675 liras, up from 650 liras.
The price of a liter of gasoline (95 octane) has also increased to 1,300 liras, up from 1,050 liras, and the ministry said that this price includes the annual renewal fee for vehicles operating on gasoline, which is set at 29 liras per liter.
The new increases will take effect from tomorrow, Wednesday.
It is noteworthy that the ministry had announced an increase in gasoline prices last October, when the subsidized liter price was raised by 100%, as its price was equivalent to 250 liras and rose to 450 liras.
