The United Nations announced that the personalities participating in the Libyan peace talks have approved a list of candidates seeking to head a transitional government that will prepare for general elections at the end of 2021.
The seventy-five participants in the peace talks in Switzerland, who are regional and tribal figures and representatives of political factions, will vote within days to choose a three-person presidential council and a prime minister.
They will choose from among 24 candidates three for the positions of the Presidency Council, while 21 people will compete for the position of Prime Minister, according to the list announced by the United Nations.
The list of approved candidates includes Agila Saleh, Speaker of Parliament in the east of the country, Minister of the Interior of the Government of National Accord Fathi Bashagha, Minister of Defense Salah Al-Nimroush, and Deputy Prime Minister Ahmed Maitiq.
