“Thankfully, no injuries reported,” the group said in a social media message.
The NTP group carried out ground and drone examinations Friday.
The preliminary report indicated that, in addition to damages to homes, the tornado damaged sheds, tossed debris and “flipped a trailer at a construction site.”
The analysis indicated the tornado travelled a distance of 6.1 kilometres and had a maximum “path width” of 130 metres.
Thursday’s tornado was the third to touch down in Ottawa this summer.
On July 13, two EF1 tornadoes with maximum wind speeds of 155 km/h touched down in Barrhaven, damaging more than 100 homes and properties.
