Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has expressed his “frustration” at the slow pace of the vaccination campaign against the Coronavirus, which has been ongoing in the country for three weeks.
“I think all Canadians, including myself, are frustrated by the situation,” Trudeau told a news conference.
He added: “We do not want to see vaccines in refrigerators, we want to see them being injected into the arms of Canadians most vulnerable to the virus .. It is time to accelerate the vaccination campaign.”
He expressed optimism that all Canadians who wish to receive the vaccine could be vaccinated by the end of September.
Next Thursday, Trudeau will hold a meeting with the heads of government of provinces and territories on “additional efforts that the federal government can make to help it vaccinate Canadians as quickly as possible.”
