Two of three kidnapped journalists released

After more than 15 days of kidnapping, Jesús Pintor Alegre and Fernando Moreno Villegas, two of the three journalists allegedly kidnapped by the criminal group La Familia Michoacana, appeared in a video detailing their release.

However, so far the whereabouts of Alan García Aguilar, who appeared in black clothing in the first video that the alleged criminals broadcast on the Escenario Calentano page, is unknown.

Both Pintor Alegre and Moreno Villegas indicated that it was a confusion, because they thought they were editors of said local media.

Both assured that they could not see the faces of those who deprived them of their liberty, because they were chained and blindfolded the entire time.

According to the journalist Jesús Pintor, since the start of the plagiarism in the last days of December 2022, they were mistreated “with rabid fury” for belonging to the Facebook news page, Escenario Calentano.

“They could not confirm that I was on that page and the two administrators, Alan García and Fernando Moreno, who are fans of social networks, discovered that they were responsible for this game,” he said in an interview with Radio Formula.

On the other hand, authorities in Mexico City announced the arrest of the alleged main attacker of the journalist, Ciro Gómez Leyva.

The head of government of the capital, Claudia Sheinbaum, explained that the subject who allegedly fired a weapon at the communicator, on December 15, was arrested in Michoacán.

According to the first official reports from the State Attorney General’s Office, the attacker was identified as Héctor Eduardo M.

The individual, who was arrested in a coordinated operation between the Michoacan prosecutor’s office and Mexico City authorities, was apprehended in the municipality of Tangancícuaro, located in the western part of the state.

The capture occurs one day after the arrest of 11 people linked to a criminal network that would have organized the attack.
