Jason Preston has started his NBA career in the worst possible way: with injury. The rookie of the Clippers has suffered a problem in the ligaments of the right foot and has been forced to undergo surgery, a situation that according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN it will make you miss much of the season.
The ailment has been a strong blow to play and franchise. Chosen at number 33 in the draft, the Angelenos had signed him a three-year contract with the first two guaranteed, something that shows the great confidence placed in him. Questioned by this and by how this setback can influence the future of the player, Tyronn Lue believes that he will overcome it and be successful in the coming years.
“He’s always asking questions about offensive sets, about defensive coverage… and he keeps moving forward. Everything I have been saying, he retains it and repeats it without stopping. From the start of the summer league to the present, he has made a huge leap. That’s because he doesn’t stop asking questions and watching videos; wants to improve and wants to be better. So I don’t think it’s a problem for him at all (the injury). He is very attentive, very intelligent and he grasps things very well, “he tells Mirjam Swanson of Orange County Register.
Waiting to see if Preston can play this course and if Lue is right, the truth is that in Las Vegas Summer League he gave a fantastic image by averaging 9 points, 4.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds with 46.2% in triples. The Clippers are willing to wait for him and see what player he can become.
