US National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien said what the mob did today in the Senate was a disgrace.
My first experience in government was serving as an intern for US Senator SI Hayakawa of California. What the mob did to our Senate Chamber today was an utter disgrace.

O’Brien added, “I just spoke with Vice President Pence … He is truly a good and generous man … He showed courage today as he did on the Capitol on September 11 as a member of Congress … I am proud to be working with him.”
I just spoke with Vice President Pence. He is a genuinely fine and decent man. He exhibited courage today as he did at the Capitol on 9/11 as a Congressman. I am proud to serve with him.

He continued, “I have spoken with members of the Senate, they want to return to the council and run the business … This desire is one of the finest traditions of our republic.”
I have spoken with members of the Senate. They want to return to America’s Senate chamber and conduct the people’s business. This desire is in the finest tradition of our Republic. God bless the Congress.

O’Brien’s comment came after supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol.
Washington, DC, witnessed massive protests by supporters of Trump, who, after gathering in the vicinity of the White House, went to the Congress building in conjunction with the House and Senate holding a joint session to approve the results of the vote in the presidential election.
The demonstrators managed to break through the security barriers surrounding the Capitol building and storm it, before the security forces intervened and took control of the place.
