US Open final round from Torrey Pines
Morning all! It looks like a lovely afternoon for golf in San Diego, and an even better morning for blogging back here in Oz. We might have ourselves a real squeaker of a final round here at the 2021 US Open, with a pretty appealing leaderboard in play as the final groups prepare to begin their rounds.
As it stands, a breakaway group of Russell Henley, Louis Oostuizen and Mackenzie Hughes sit at 5-under, but the pressure coming from behind them is enormous. All of Bryson DeChambeau, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler and Matthew Wolff are within touching distance, and already today there have been moves from Justin Thomas and Brooks Koepka.
The wind is expected to pick up somewhat, so things are set up for drama. Let’s hope we get it.
