Military analyst Boris Rogin said that all major countries have aircraft carriers, and China, like Britain, is building a third aircraft carrier, in addition to the United States, which has a program to develop old aircraft carriers and build new ships of this type.
As for France, in December, it announced its intention to build the nuclear aircraft carrier “Nimitz” by 2030. It will also be 300 meters in length. The ship will carry 90 warplanes on board.
With regard to Russia, according to the analyst, it must build a modern large aircraft carrier, whose specifications will meet modern requirements, which will increase the country’s reputation.
Experts now tend to choose the “Sturm” aircraft carrier project as the basis for the future nuclear aircraft carrier that will carry the “Su-57” and “MiG-35” fighters, marine helicopters and flying radars.
The analyst said that Russia is currently developing the “Peter the Great” and “Admiral Nakhimov” cruisers and will supply them with “Caliber” winged missiles, “Zircon” hypersonic missiles, and a marine model for the “S-500” anti-air system. It can be used as two ships accompanying an aircraft carrier.
It is noteworthy that Russia currently owns the aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov”, which began use on January 20, 1991.
