The Venezuelan Vice President, Delsey Rodriguez, confirmed that the country’s electrical power grid was attacked by unknown groups, while the capital and other states witnessed blackouts.
“The attack on the national electric power network was carried out this morning, and damaged the transportation system at the (Gori) Hydroelectric Power Station,” Rodriguez wrote on the social networking site “Twitter”.
He added, “The attack led to a decrease in capacity in various sectors of the capital and other states,” indicating that work is underway to restore electrical energy as soon as possible and fix faults.
