Australia has been crowned the fourth sexiest country in the world, according to an extraordinary analysis of global Google data.
The ‘Sexy Search Index’ was created by researchers who looked at search volumes for sex-related terms in 100 countries around the world throughout 2020.
Terms included sex toys, sexy lingerie, dating apps, sex tips, kinks and sex positions, which were then cross-referenced with the population to find a ranking.
According to the analysis, commissioned by UK-based lingerie company Pour Moi, Australia’s favourite risque thing to Google was BDSM, followed by voyeurism.

Top sex positions were the reverse cowgirl, doggy style and missionary, while the top three kinks were BDSM, bondage and threesomes.
Aussies also took the number five spot for nations that Googled sex positions, and had the same ranking for countries that looked for sex toys the most.
The top sex toy Down Under was a fleshlight (a male toy), followed by dildos and sex dolls.
According to the data, the sexiest nation in the world is Portugal, with its citizens’ most popular kinks being BDSM, threesomes and electrostimulation.
Their most-searched-for erotic toys being dildos, fleshlights and butt plugs.
The UK came second, with the most-searched-for sex toy being the fleshlight followed by dildos and vibrators.
Britons’ most-Googled sex position was the reverse cowgirl, followed by doggy style and missionary, and their favourite lingerie is stockings, then corsets and G-strings.
Ireland was dubbed the third sauciest country in the world, as residents took to Google to find sexy tattoo ideas, lingerie and corsets.
Stranger findings included South Korean’s spike in ‘golden shower’ and ‘feet’ searches, Norway’s ‘cuckolding’ interest and the Netherlands’ fascination with ‘spanking’.

People from Saint Lucia often asked ‘how sex works’, Ireland asked the most sex questions and the most popular dating app worldwide was Tinder.
Michael Thomson, CEO at Pour Moi, said: ‘It was fascinating to use Google searches as our data source for this index, as our search history can often reveal the most intimate parts of our lives.
When it was revealed that residents from Belfast and Manchester in the UK were particularly interested sexy pajamas and stockings, he added: ‘We were pleased to see classics like stockings and suspending still such a favourite.’
