Not everyone has a computer, but everyone has a cell phone. With the penetration of smart phones it accelerated more and with the pandemic this has grown exponentially, as was considered by Cecilia Vega, founder and CEO of aiween, a digital platform for entrepreneurs.
In an interview with The EconomistVega said that currently in Latin America, especially in Mexico between 50 and 65% of young people prefer to be entrepreneurs than employees, and that is a trend that is here to stay.
“We have an imminent reality, the economies of Latin America do not grow at the speed that generally grows, the need for employment. The ecosystem of the entrepreneur that existed at the time as the National Institute of the Entrepreneur (Inadem) no longer exists, so it is essential to generate some type of platform, structure, or a space for the entrepreneurship that today is strengthened, is a need for economic reactivation to happen ”, said the board of directors, who has more than 15 years of experience in the financial sector in companies such as American Express, BBVA and Metlife, was in charge of the functions of strategic planning, product development, brand management, customer acquisition and retention, process reengineering and foundations.
He said that due to the above, aiween was born as a mobile application, whose main function is to promote: entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs and professionals who probably do not have a business today, but they already have some talent that has to be developed, either a freelance or to integrate into a productive life.
“Another function we have is to connect them to help an entrepreneur, connecting large companies with entrepreneurs sometimes costs work because entrepreneurs cannot endure the payment schemes of large companies (30, 60, 90 days). We have seen that the best clients of an entrepreneur are other entrepreneurs because there is more accessibility, better flow conditions and so on, it not only refers to the economic relationship, but also to an intellectual relationship ”.
He commented that undertaking is a tough task. “It is a time when you feel lonely, you are in a world that you do not know and you have to do all the activities of a company in terms of legal and fiscal constitution, operational activity, marketing, responsibilities with employees,” said Cecilia Vega who spoke She became an entrepreneur after being a mobile telecommunications and business consultant, collaborating with Neus Mobile, izzi Móvil, YOTelco and Genersys.
“When I entered the world of entrepreneurship in 2015, it was where I learned from what I heard from my peers, from entrepreneurs like me, therefore, in aiween a very important function is to connect with those opportunities, whether business or connect to those people who are willing to work collaboratively or learn from each other, ”he said.
Project
The company was born six years ago as a web platform to support entrepreneurship, “and to create links between entrepreneurs, a community was started that helped 26,000 users. Today, in full economic reactivation, the natural step is to solve the needs of small entrepreneurs taking advantage of digital trends in mobile applications, “he said.
“This application links to startups and professionals functioning as an Instagram for business.
“By 2022, aiween will offer a premium version, in which it will give access to intensive courses on products, marketing and sales, as well as an automated linking to do business … so we are convinced that it will evolve from Instagram of business still Tinder for entrepreneurs and companies ”, concluded Vega.
