Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The International Civil Aviation Organization recently released a report explaining the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on civil aviation and the economic implications of the past year.
According to the report, the Corona pandemic affected global passenger traffic for the year 2020 compared to 2019 levels, as the report showed an overall decrease of 50% in the number of seats provided by airlines, as well as a 60% decrease in total passenger numbers. The loss of total operating income for airlines was about $ 371 billion, according to the report.
In terms of domestic passenger traffic, the total number of available airline seats decreased by 38%, while the total number of passengers decreased by about 50%.
