A major crash between a school bus and a metro bus has caused chaos on a busy morning commute route.
Passengers of both buses are reportedly trapped inside after the T-bone smash on the Great Eastern Highway in Canning Vale, Perth, just after 7.45am on Tuesday.
Six emergency crews rushed to the scene and started removing the door and back window of one of the buses to free the occupants.
Police told Daily Mail Australia that a number of people are seriously injured, but the exact figure remains unclear.
Some were carried out the front door on one of the buses on stretchers, while others at the back of the vehicle were injured but able to walk off.
A witness told the West Australian that lots of students were standing on the side of the road.
Officers have advised motorists to avoid the area.
