The head of the Turkish Military Industries Authority, Ismail Demir, said, “Turkish drones are the best given their price and characteristics that distinguish them.”
In his interview with “Agence France-Presse”, Demir explained that “in terms of quality versus price, we are the best. There are different drones in the world, but if we compare their prices and features with ours, the difference is huge.”
He added, “If there were a drone system with the same specifications as our planes manufactured by another country, its price would have been twice as high.”
“Many countries in East Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and even in Europe are interested in our system and our drones. Representatives (of these countries) have come to Turkey and some of them are studying our offers,” he said.
It is noteworthy that the United States, last December, banned the Turkish Military Industries Authority granting any new license to export weapons and imposed sanctions on Demir in response to Turkey’s purchase of Russian “S-400” missiles.
On the other hand, Demir played down the impact of these sanctions, stressing that Turkey will be able to produce components and equipment that it will not be able to obtain from the United States.
