Every person in New South Wales will be able to access $100 worth of free Dine & Discover vouchers by the end of March, Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced.

The program designed to pump money into the hospitality industry after the Covid pandemic left many out of pocket, is finally being launched state-wide.

The vouchers have already been trialled in Sydney’s The Rocks, Northern Beaches and out at Broken Hill, but everyone can get the freebies regardless of their postcode by the end of March.

Two $25 vouchers are available to spend at restaurants, cafes, bars, wineries, pubs and clubs from Monday to Thursday.

A further two $25 vouchers can be used for entertainment and recreation, including museums, live music and theatre seven days a week.

Ms Berejiklian described the initiative as a win-win for everyone.

‘For too long because of Covid, we haven’t been able to support these business, so it’s a win for citizens and a win for businesses as it boosts their ability to receive people again as we move through Covid,’ she told reporters on Friday.

‘The dollars that go into the economy allows us to grow in the future to create and protect jobs because so many people were displaced because of Covid.’

She added the government is ‘overwhelmingly satisfied’ with the early success of the initiative.

To check if you’re eligible, log onto Service NSW and click on the ‘vouchers’ section.

You then input your address to see if your area is included, but all postcodes will be able to apply by the end of March.

Businesses have already began to get involved in the offer, with Dendy cinemas offering a free large popcorn to anyone who uses the vouchers.

More to follow.
