The government of the Emirate of Dubai said that it will start a free vaccination campaign with the “Pfizer-Biontech” vaccine today, Wednesday, to join Saudi Arabia, which last week became the first Arab country to use this vaccine against Corona.
This step comes after the UAE and Bahrain launched a vaccine developed by the Chinese National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm) earlier this month.
The Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai said in a statement on “Twitter” yesterday, Tuesday, “a wide and free campaign to vaccinate against Covid-19 with the” Pfizer “vaccine in Dubai, starting from Wednesday.
The UAE was the first country to introduce the Chinese vaccine to its residents, and earlier this month it said that its effectiveness is 86 percent, based on an interim analysis of clinical trials in the late stages.
The UAE has recorded 195,878 cases of coronavirus and 642 deaths so far.
