Vision from the scene shows police ramming down the couple’s door and entering their ramshackle home, with a 72-year-old man limping out of the property with officers.

His bemused partner, 62, was seen sitting on the sofa during the raid before also being arrested.

Their dramatic arrests follow extensive inquiries by Strike Force Waldegrave set up to investigate the supply of heroin across Sydney’s inner suburbs.

Detectives arrested a man, 44, during a vehicle stop on Anzac Parade, Chifley in the city’s south-east on Wednesday morning.

Strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a Waterloo unit a short time later, where they seized heroin, a mobile phone, SIM cards, prescription medications and a number of laser pointers.

Four people were arrested in Sydney on Wednesday morning over an alleged heroin syndicate, including an elderly couple

A second man, 41 was arrested at the Waterloo unit.

Detectives later attended a second home in Surry Hills where they arrested a third man, 72, and a woman, 62.

They were both charged with commercial supply of a prohibited drug and were refused bail to appear in Central Local Court on Thursday.

The 41-year-old man was charged with taking part in the supply of a prohibited drug, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, and deal with the proceeds of crime and refused bail to appear in Central Local Court on Thursday.

The 44-year-old Hilllvue man was charged with taking part in supplying prohibited drug.

He faced Waverley Local Court on Wednesday where he was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court on April 20.
