A bus has crashed into a shop in Manchester city centre, prompting emergency services to rush to the scene due to concerns about possible casualties. The incident occurred at the newly-opened bubble tea shop T4 in Piccadilly Gardens. A single-decker Diamond-branded blue bus can be seen lodged into the side of the shop, causing distress among the staff. According to the BBC, two people outside the shop were injured, with one being treated while sitting down and wrapped in a foil blanket. Eyewitnesses shared shocking images on social media, including one of a person using clothing as a tourniquet to apply pressure to an injured man’s leg. The scene is scattered with shattered glass, and white tents have been set up by emergency services. Diamond bus has announced the termination of the X50 service at Deansgate until further notice due to the crash. The incident has sparked reactions of horror from social media users, with one witness describing it as one of the most terrible scenes they have ever seen. The police, ambulance crews, and fire services are present, with roads closed and a cordon put in place. T4 UK Franchise Ltd, the owner of the bubble tea shop, expressed well wishes for those involved in the crash and announced that the store would remain closed until it could reopen. Greater Manchester Police urged the public to avoid the area while emergency services handle the situation. The Serious Collision Investigation Unit of GMP is investigating the incident. The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service is also present at the scene. MailOnline has contacted Diamond buses for a comment.
