FGR presents advances in the investigation on Nochixtlán, Oaxaca

The Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) reported that as part of the investigation work to clarify the events that occurred on June 19, 2016 in Nochixtlan, Oaxacawhere six people lost their lives and 173 people were injured, 80 of them police elements, an arrest warrant against a police officer is about to be executed and an initial hearing is about to be held in which two police elements will be charged.

Through a statement, he highlighted that as part of the case derived from a confrontation between elements of the extinct Federal Police and residents of Nochixtlán, six arrest warrants and five links to proceedings have been obtained against three former federal and two state police commanders. who led the operation.

While on November 15, the most recent link to the process of two ex-commands of the Federal Police was achieved, for their probable intervention in the commission of omission of the crimes of qualified homicide, committed to the detriment of six fatalities and qualified injuries to the detriment of 27 people who were injured by a firearm projectile.

Meanwhile, on January 13, 2023, a hearing was held, in which the defense of one of the defendants requested the modification of informal preventive detention to house arrest, due to the age of 72 of the indicated person; the Public Ministry opposed and justified the continuation and the Judge confirmed the precautionary measure of unofficial preventive detention.

And an arrest warrant is about to be executed against a police officer; Due to the initial hearing being held on June 9, 2023, in which two more police elements will be charged (one from the Gendarmerie and one from the state).
