Family dog Gucci (pictured) was beaten to death in a horrific home invasion in which $100,000 of goods including and electronics were stolen, police have said.
‘They killed our family dog. What for? I don’t understand the callousness of this incident,’ Gucci’s owner Frida Karam told 7NEWS.
‘Robbery’s one thing but a life is a life. That dog was like a child, they took her life.’
Gucci was part of the family for 11 years and the mother-of-three said she was like a therapy dog for her daughter, who is autistic.
Ms Karam returned home from a birthday celebration for her seven-year-old son to find her dog’s lifeless body and every room in her house ransacked.

She said her wedding rings and children’s christening clothes were taken and as she no longer feels safe in her own home, her family is going to move.
‘I don’t feel safe here. This is my home, I built this home from scratch,’ the mother said between tears.
Maka has not applied for bail and will stay behind bars as police continue their investigations, believing up to three men may be responsible.
