Mexico City is preparing a bill so that digital platform delivery people have labor rights, revealed the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
At a press conference, Sheinbaum reported that the head of the Secretariat of Labor and Employment Promotion, José Luis Rodríguez, is the one who is tracing the route to change the situation of the members of this sector.
“He is working, he is even in communication with the Secretary of Labor, Luisa María Alcalde, to be able to make a bill at the federal level so that all those who are delivery people can have labor rights,” explained the official.
Sheinbaum Pardo explained that currently these workers are under the figure of partners of the companies, which prevents them from having benefits and rights.
“It is very important that they have them and of course we are going to defend them,” he said.

Claudia Sheinbaum called on digital platform deliverers to report in case the companies charge them for the new use that came into force this year.
“It is very important that the delivery men report it to us because, under no circumstances, should this charge be made to the delivery men; it is to the profits that go out of the country and it is 2”, he said, derived from different groups that have denounced damages in their profits.
It should be remembered that for this year it was approved to reform article 307 TER of the local Tax Code, to establish a charge of 2% of the total amount (of sales), before taxes, for each delivery of natural or legal persons that operate, use and manage applications and platforms.
With the resources, the capital government intends to achieve the improvement of roads and physical infrastructure, which facilitate the delivery service.
