Guadalajara, Jalisco. As part of the project to repopulate the Historical Center of Guadalajara and make the first square of the city a safer place, this Monday began the construction of 355 apartments in three vertical towers in the polygon that makes up the Digital Creative City (CCD).
The three complexes that contemplate both living place as commercial spaces are part of the Guadalajara Creative Districtwhich supposes a polygon of 21.5 hectares around the Morelos park and in which six properties owned by the CCD Master Trust.
The general director of the Agency for the Development of Creative and Digital Industries, Antonio Salazar Gómez, reported that this Tuesday, September 6, the bidding conditions for property D will be published, the last of the six that has a view towards the Morelos park.
This property has 5,192 square meters that will also be used for housing projects and mixed uses.
The projects interested in participating in the bidding will be evaluated according to both their economic proposal and their technical proposal, the latter being the one with the greatest weight, with 70% of the total score.
Antonio Salazar reported that between 2019 and 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, in the Digital Creative City – whose environment is the housing project that began this Monday – both national and international companies dedicated to digital animation, video game development were established. and applications, software and specialized training centers, as well as the Technological University of Jalisco and the Open Innovation Platform (Plai).
Currently, towers A and C, as well as Casa Baeza Alzaga, which occupy an area of more than 13,000 square meters, are at 100% capacity.

The development of housing complexes in this polygon is part of the project to repopulate the center of Guadalajaramunicipality that has lost population annually during the last 12 years.
According to the 2020 Population and Housing Census, in the polygon known as the Creative District, there are only 223 homes, of which 70% are inhabited. Only 394 neighbors live in the area, 37% less than there were in 2010.
The municipal president, Pablo Lemus Navarro, reported that in order to encourage developers to build middle-income housing in the center of Guadalajara, the Guadalajara city council approved a series of supports such as eliminating the charge for all construction and urbanization permits in homes with value of up to 800,000 pesos.
Meanwhile, the departments of up to two million pesos will only pay 30% of the urbanization and building license.
