The National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI), announced an increase of 10.2% in the number of requests for information in 11 months of 2021.
According to INAI data, between January 1 and November 30, 2021, 296,891 requests were entered; In the same period of 2020, 269,460 cases were registered.
Meanwhile, during 2019 (from January 1 to December 15), 314,891 requests were submitted, while during 2018 there were 292,852 information requests.
According to INAI records, the institutions with the largest number of petitions are the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, with 53,430; the Mexican Institute of Social Security, with 34,097; the Ministry of Health, with 13,694; the Cofepris, with 13,589 and the ISSSTE, with 7,103.
