The Japanese Ministry of Health announced the registration of 7,848 new infections and 70 deaths from the new Corona virus during the past 24 hours.
The ministry stated – in a statement reported by the Japanese newspaper (Japan Times) today, Thursday, that the total number of HIV infections increased to 263,638 people, while the cumulative deaths reached 3,831 deaths.
In Tokyo, the daily number of newly confirmed cases reached 2,447, rising above the 2000 level for the first time.
The increase in the number of new cases comes as Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga declared a state of emergency in facing the virus in Tokyo and three neighboring provinces.
