The Duchess of Cambridge donned a pretty blue gown from one of her favourite brands for a romantic anniversary portrait with Prince William to mark 10 years of marriage.

Kate, 39, looked elegant in the bohemian-style blue patterned Avery dress by HIgh Street brand Ghost, which cost £195 but is no longer in stock.

The maxi dress features a Georgette mix and match floral print with a wrap top which ties in a bow at the waist and sheer sleeves.

Her glossy hair is styled into waves instead of the more formal dark curls she favoured early in their marriage, with her usual signature make-up look of brown eye shadow and a nude lip.

The thrifty Duchess previously wore the gown, with a patchwork design and frill detailing, during her and William’s tour of Pakistan in October 2019 where they met with staff at the British High Commission in Islamabad.

The Duchess has chosen to wear blue for a number of special occasions over the years, not least the Issa dress she sported for her engagement photoshoot back in November 2010 – where she matched her outfit to Princess Diana’s famous sapphire and diamond ring.

Kate also wore a blue Jenny Packham number when she emerged from the Lindo Wing carrying baby Prince George.

Mother-of-three Kate is also a long-standing fan of Ghost, which recently collaborated on a range with Marks and Spencer.

Last year she stepped out in the brand’s Anouk Dress, which features fabric-covered buttons all the way down and romantic ruffles along the collar and hem, during Clap for Carers at Anmer Hall.

Ghost donated all profits from online sales of the now sold-out blue £129 floral gown to NHS charities in order to help in the fight against coronavirus.

The Cambridge family’s blue wardrobe colour scheme on the night was done as a nod to the NHS.

For Ghost, Kate’s royal endorsement is the surest sign yet that the label is enjoying a full-fledged fashion revival – 12 years after it almost collapsed during the 2008 financial crisis.

The brand has attained new customers with its floaty dresses and separates that perfectly capture the trend for retro tea dresses.

It also boasts a growing wholesale business and is now stocked in Selfridges, Zalando, John Lewis, Anthropologie and ASOS.

Carrie Symonds is also a fan of the brand, wearing a £120 red floral gown to watch fiance Boris Johnson’s first speech as PM outside Downing Street.
