The head of the opposition Republican People’s Party in Turkey, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, called on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to apologize to the women after his recent statements, considering them an “insult to women.”
He said, “What do you mean by models in Vitrine? Let’s take a look at what he himself is doing,” noting that “the people are dissatisfied with these statements.”
He added, “Give the position that you occupy its right. Does this position allow you to insult the people, the veiled or the non-veiled? Shut up a little, and stop insulting people.”
He stressed that Erdogan makes such statements because he considers that the headscarf can only be used for political purposes, so “if his party is talking about the veil and the veiled, then it is normal.”
Turkish President Erdogan said, in previous statements, that “some people take veiled women with them, such as models in the showcase, to deceive the people.”
