Loss in the National Palace

At the National Palace, 300 requests for hearings or support addressed to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador have been received daily. Since the beginning of the six-year term, a pilgrimage congregated at the Mariana Gate; although another contingent went to the access to Calle de Moneda, to demonstrate before the cameras and microphones of those attending the Mañaneras.

The presidential promise to listen and dialogue without distinctions with all social groups materialized with the authorization of a Citizen Attention office, whose office is located on the ground floor of building 10 of the office complex where the federal Executive offices. The citizen service microsite on the Mexican government portal (www.gob.mx/atencion/) is under maintenance. And until now the causes of the suspension of the service are not known, the options to complete the process are only in person (documentary) or by telephone.

The information stored in the SIDAC of the Presidency of the Republic between December 1, 2018 and September 23, 2022 is lost. No trace of more than 400,000 records, according to available information.

Requests logged, scanned, and sent to dependencies generated before that day simply do not appear in the database that contained PDF files for requests, pipelines, and responses.

Neither government agencies nor applicants can see the responses. The ruling —according to the sources consulted— occurred in the office in charge of organizing, preserving and safeguarding the files. The suspension in SIDAC also affects the work of other agencies, because if they received a request on September 9 and did not download it or did not generate a backup, they will not be able to read it and therefore, they will not be able to attend to it either.

“In her desire to get as far away from the previous project as possible and stay safe, the new director of citizen service has reduced to the most noble area of ​​​​the National Palace,” they lamented.
