Man is shot by police on a busy Brisbane freeway bringing peak-hour traffic to a standstill
An allegedly armed man has been shot by police on a busy Brisbane highway, causing chaos for peak-hour traffic.
Emergency services were called to the Logan Motorway, in Brisbane’s south, just after 6am Thursday.
Officers were responding to reports there had been a traffic hazard and were confronted by a man who had been armed.
The man was alone and on foot on the busy motorway where police shot him.
Paramedics were called to the scene about 6.15am but the man’s condition is unclear.
The incident has resulted in traffic chaos in the area as police have cordoned off the scene to investigate.
Police are urging commuters and eastbound motorists to use alternate routes to the Logan Motorway.
