NBA: Marc Gasol, transferred from the Lakers to the Grizzlies, who will cut him to return to Spain: Girona or retired?

LThe Angeles Lakers fulfilled the script just hours after announcing the signing of DeAndre Jordan. The Los Angeles team, as Adrian Wojnarowski advanced, has traded Marc Gasol to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for the rights to Wang Zhelin.

The Grizzlies, who also receive a second round of the draft and cash, have no intention of keeping the Gasol middleweight and have already announced that their intention is to cut him, allowing him to return to Spain as the player wishes.

With this transfer the circle of Marc Gasol in the NBA closes. A league that came after being drafted by the Lakers, who in 2008 transferred their rights to the Memphis Grizzlies. In Tennessee, the Spaniard became one of the benchmark interiors in the league, becoming an all-star and Best Defensive Player in the NBA. Last season Gasol came to the Lakers from Toronto and is now a short-lived Grizzlies player again.

This movement seems to be the last of Marc Gasol in the NBA, to which he says goodbye after 13 seasons in the NBA in which he has won the ring and has been one of the few players in history to add 10,000 points, 6,000 rebounds and 2,900 assists. Numbers that have earned him three all-star status and once elected to the League’s Best Quintet in 2013.

Now the unknown opens up about the future of one of the best Spanish players in history, who last summer already announced his retirement from the national team. On more than one occasion Marc Gasol has confessed his intention to play at least one season for Girona Basketball, a team of which he is president, although some rumors point to his definitive goodbye from basketball.
