Lyou Grizzlies have formalized the agreement with Marc Gasol for which the Spanish player, who had been traded from the Lakers to the Memphis franchise, its free, as you have advanced Mark Stein, journalist of the New York Times. The Spanish pvot could thus return to Spain to play, as it seems, in the Girona of the LEB Oro, club from which it is president and majority shareholder.
Marc Gasol have one per month of contract with the Angelenos, but his intention was to end his stint in the NBA, which the Grizzlies when they agreed to receive it pierced in exchange for the rights of Wang Zhelin, from a second round of the draft and cash.
He had one year left on his contract for 2.5 million
The Grizzlies they had already announced that their intention was to cut him off, allowing him to return to Spain, and they have kept their word. The terms of the agreement are unknown, although it seems likely that the 36-year-old has given up the 2.5 million salary that correspond to him in his last year of contract (minimum salary of veteran). Or much of him. What he wanted was to be free and he has achieved it. Have to see now if he hangs up his shirt or puts it on again to play for Girona.
End of a great 13-year cycle in the NBA
