The Denver Nuggets did not need much to add their third victory of the course. Those of Mike Malone crushed without too much difficulty some Mavericks who seemed broken in the second half, and who played a very poor game against which they have nothing left to do but make a clean slate. The 106-75 with which the electronic ended speaks for itself, and reflects the disparity that was seen between both teams on the floor of the Ball Arena.
Dallas, although it was 17 down, held the guy relatively in the first half, and managed to reach the break with a score of 54-44 that kept them alive. However, with the arrival of the third quarter, the sinking began. Denver’s defense managed to leave Kidd’s attack without ideas, who were shipwrecked loudly, while, with Nikola Jokic as the axis, the local offense began to work and did not stop generating good situations that the rest of the men took advantage of.
The result was a 33-12 run that left the duel absolutely doomed, as there was not even a hint of reaction from the visitors. The last quarter was in fact turned into a reserve duel, as both coaches chose to withdraw their important men from the track and ended a match without history.
The Nuggets thus achieved a placid victory without the need for the more aggressive version of Jokic. The Serbian was doubtful until the last second due to his knee problems, and during the match he did not seek to play an especially leading role in scoring, since he only shot nine times to the basket. However, his contribution as a game generator and as a rebounder was essential, which made him finish with 11 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists and go to the bench with just 25 minutes played taking advantage of the great advantage.
The weight of the annotation therefore fell on other men, who responded efficiently. Will Barton, with 17 goals, was the leader of his team in this facet, followed by Jeff Green’s 14, Aaron Gordon’s 13 and Michael Porter Jr.’s 12 All of them were important in the third quarter, in which his success allowed those of Colorado to finish opening the gap that would leave the crash decided.
Worst touchdown in Doncic era
On the Mavericks, the balance was very poor, especially on offense. Luka Doncic, with 16 points and 4 assists, tried to pull his own, but was not able to display a good version or find success in his teammates, which made it impossible for the Texans not only to follow the scoring rhythm of the locals , but even offer a dignified image. In fact, the Slovenian was the only one in double digits alongside Trey Burke, who finished with 11 points although almost all came in the garbage minutes of the fourth quarter.
This was, in fact, the lowest score for the Dallas team since Doncic’s arrival in the franchise. You have to go back to March 17, 2017 to find the Mavs scoring 75 points or less (it was 74 specifically), because since then, especially in the last two seasons, they have managed to be a great team on an offensive level turning around the point guard. Of course, the opposite of what they did this morning.
