Woman is hit by a truck on a busy road outside a major shopping centre in central Sydney as witnesses ‘see paramedics giving her CPR’

A woman has been mowed down by a truck as she tried to cross a busy road in Sydney’s inner suburbs.
Police and three ambulances attended the scene outside Broadway Shopping Centre in Glebe.
A section of Parramatta Road was blocked off at 9.30 on Tuesday evening after a truck hit the pedestrian.

The victim, in their 40s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The truck driver was uninjured and was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
A witness told Daily Mail Australia paramedics appeared to be working on reviving the woman in a shielded area.
‘It looked as though they were giving someone CPR,’ he said.

‘Detectives were interviewing witnesses and there were at least 10 cop cars.’
Photos of the scene showed flashing lights at the busy hub with police tape strung across the road.
