Hundreds of Mexican and Mexican immigrants crowded to cross the US-Mexico border to celebrate Christmas and New Years with loved ones in Mexico, in Laredo.
The United States closed its borders with Mexico and Canada on March 20 and 21, respectively, and since that decision has been renewed monthly.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said during a press conference that the new extension between the two northern neighbors “will help protect people on both sides of the border.”
It will only be permitted to continue commercial exchanges and trips that are considered essential.
