During this Friday’s meeting, they agreed to establish a common agenda and strengthen institutional, commercial, environmental and social ties.
Governor Enrique Alfaro pointed out that the fight against climate change will be one of the strategic axes in the Jalisco-United States bilateral relationship, since they will seek to work together to clean up the Santiago River.
Meanwhile, the US diplomat indicated that he will analyze the way in which the government of his country can join in the cleaning work of the Santiago River and provide solutions to the problem of global warming.
“In the Lake (of Chapala), where the Santiago River comes from, we have great problems that are recognized by everyone, right ?; So we are going to see if there is any way that we in the United States and Jalisco can help, I don’t know that yet, we are going to investigate that, ”said Ambassador Salazar.
He added that with a subnational focus, the US government will also seek to collaborate with Jalisco on other priority issues such as security, energy and migration.
