Monterrey, NL. The Trilateral Meeting of North American Leaders is held within a framework of rapprochement and is positive, but the possibility of a panel of controversies on the energy issue is still latent, since companies need to have certainty to trigger investments in the sector.
Guillermo Dillon Montaña, general director of Caintra Nuevo León pointed out: “We are all attentive to the energy issue and what derives from that panel of controversies in the Treaty, we will see the outcome and the consequences of that panel, we are concerned and attentive to its evolution”.
“We have to make it very clear that the certainty we need to continue with the economic growth and investment dynamics throughout North America is important to us. We feel that here in Mexico we have lacked certainty in terms of public investment policies,” he emphasized. Dillon Mountain.
He elaborated that to the extent that there is certainty to maintain important investments, there will be certainty of job creation and that will give dynamism to the economy.
“We know of investments that have been stopped, without mentioning amounts or companies due to confidentiality agreements,” he said.
Put SMEs on the agenda
Guillermo Dillon explained that the president of Caintra, Rodrigo Fernández, and the president of the SME Commission, Irma León, are participating in the Summit.
The industrialists are interested in SMEs being on the public agenda of the event and sharing the models and mechanisms to promote the integration of these small and medium-sized companies from the three countries in the articulation of the productive chains and in the incentives for export , since in Mexico this sector represents 99% of the organizations, said the manager.
In addition, Caintra indicated in a statement that the representatives of the organization have been clear with the leaders of the three countries in which SMEs are the ones that integrate and give functionality to value chains, providing flexibility to production, generating value to the economy and They contribute as a main source of social and economic development with millions of jobs in the North American region.
Within the economic integration of the T-MEC, the following have had a positive impact:
- By increasing competitiveness and facilitating the relocation of global operations with nearshoring.
- They help reduce migration out of Mexico by generating employment in various fields.
- They are going to recover the security of having employment and economic development in the communities.
