This Sunday morning the singer, actor and icon of Mexican music, Vicente Fernandez Gomez, died at 81 years of age after four months of being admitted to Hospital Country 2000, in his hometown, Guadalajara, Jalisco, after an accidental fall that left injuries in the cervical area.
During the last days, the so-called “Charro de Huentitán”He presented inflammation in the respiratory tract and urinary system, for which he had to be transferred to intensive care, according to a report from his family, with whom he was able to interact during the last week.
It was not until this Saturday that the singer’s family reported that the charro’s health had deteriorated to a critical state, so he had to be sedated, from which he no longer recovered.
The federal secretary of Culture, Alejandra Frausto Guerrero, expressed his condolences for the departure of Fernández Gómez:

Meanwhile, the Secretary of Foreign Relations (SRE), Marcelo Ebrard, lamented the death of the singer and through his Twitter account, offered his condolences to the artist’s family and friends.
“My condolences to Gerardo Fernández, brothers, family and friends for the death of Don Vicente Fernández, a great figure in Mexican music and enormous contemporary personality. Rest in peace. I hug the Fernández family,” wrote Ebrard.

With more than 80 albums to his credit, Vicente Fernández leaves an emblematic musical legacy for Mexican culture, for which he has won two Grammy Awards, eight Latin Grammys and 14 Los Nuestro Awards. His emblem as a spokesperson for national music earned him a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
