A free diver has captured the incredible moment a globefish approached them seemingly for help to remove a trail of sediment trapped in its scales.
Jules Casey captured the friendly encounter on a Go Pro camera at an offshore diving spot on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.
The footage shows the colourful fish swim past Ms Casey’s camera with a trail of green residue attached to its back.
The fish turns towards Ms Casey and its eyes light up after noticing her, before swimming in a loop, apparently showing off its unwelcome baggage.

Ms Casey follows the fish as it glides through a kelp forest before it turns around to face her.
The fish peers at Ms Casey before swimming to its right and flicking its flippers to push the sediment trail towards Ms Casey.
She reaches out to the trail and tugs it out of the fish’s scales as it happily swims away down the reef.
‘This adorable little globefish appeared to be asking for help. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t,’ Ms Casey captioned the post.

‘It swam up to me, turned around showing me that it was trailing a long line of stuff and then returned so I could remove it.’
Comments on the post were in awe of the globefish’s cute display.
‘Poor little darling. I reckon it knew you would help,’ one comment reads.
‘This has to be the cutest fish ever!’ another wrote.
‘These beauties of the deep know you are friendly and would help. You’re a beautiful soul,’ a third wrote.
