The main stock indexes of the US market operate with losses this Monday. Shares in Wall Street decline moderately due to market caution, with investors awaiting the last monetary policy announcement in 2021 that will make the Federal Reserve (Fed).
The benchmark index S&P 500, which groups the 500 most solid issuers in the market, fell -0.47% to a level of 4,689.65 points. The index Dow Jones, made up of 30 industrial giants, lost -0.69% to 35,723.67 points. The Nasdaq, with a high technological component, lost -0.49% to 15,554.45 units.
“This week is central bank. The meetings of the Fed, the European Central Bank and the Bank of England are the most anticipated, but there will also be meetings of the banks of Japan, Mexico, Switzerland, Norway, Hungary and Russia,” he said in a report Ben Laidler, an analyst at the investment platform eToro.
The markets will be attentive to the stimulus reduction plans in the United States and Europe, which could accelerate as a prelude to a period of rate hike in 2022. For this Tuesday, the market expects the Producer Price Index in the United States, which it is relevant to the Federal Reserve.
