With the growth in the number of events held, the Expo will not only increase its income by occupying the surface and the days that are free on the site each year, but will also confirm its objective as a driver of development in the state by generating more economic spill to the city.
The exhibition, congress and convention center generates an annual income of close to 22,000 million pesos and contributes two thirds of the economic activity from meetings industry.
In the current context of the pandemic, Expo Guadalajara has an average occupancy rate of 27% per year. Before the global health crisis, the most successful venues in the world reached 60% annual occupancy, a percentage that the Jalisco campus hopes to reach with the new management.
The director of Expo Guadalajara, Juan Gabriel Tamez, commented that in the 21 months since the pandemic, the venue has organized 740 events with 9,500 exhibitors and more than a million visitors.
By 2022, more than 75 face-to-face exhibitions are planned, among them, the largest in the country and the most important in their sector in Latin America, such as Intermoda, International Furniture Expo, Expo ANTAD & Alimentaria, National Hardware Expo, Confitexpo and the international Book Fair (FIL).
