A family looking forward to pulling apart their box of Coles Christmas crackers were in for a rude shock when they discovered the party starters had nothing inside them.

But instead the customer claimed only two out of the ten crackers had paper crowns and there were no toys at all.
A Coles shopper was left outraged after claiming his box of ten Christmas crackers had nothing inside them
‘What a scam. Bought this packet of Christmas crackers from Coles and gave them to the kids to open and there was nothing inside of them,’ the shopper wrote to Facebook.
‘It’s not the money I am upset about. But I would not ever think they would do this to people to make a dollar.’
Other customers said they had also been disappointed with the bonbons while some said they had the same pack with no issues.
‘I was very disappointed in them as well,’ one commented.
‘I only had a sticker in all of mine too,’ another said.
‘Yep, just pulled all ours and only one toy out of eight,’ someone wrote.
‘We had two packets and were good,’ one said.
Meanwhile, other Coles shoppers suggested the mistake was likely a manufacturing issue.
A spokesperson for Coles said: ‘Coles takes the quality of all our products seriously.
‘As always we encourage customers to return any item they’re not 100% happy with to their nearest store for a full refund or replacement.’
Other shoppers which had bought the pack from Coles said they had the same problem while others said theirs had no issues at all
